Teresita's Biography

 

Teresita de León was born in the City of Havana, Cuba.

A graduate as Bachelor of Arts in Musicology from the Superior Institute of Art (ISA) in 1988 and Bachelor of Arts in Piano in 1990.

Her professional life began earlier in 1985 as a Music Theory Dean at the National School of Art (ENA) in Havana, developping a wide scope of disciplines and activities, including teaching-tutoring studients of a variaty of ages, in private and public Music conservatories in Cuba, Spain, Mexico and United States.

Teresita has also occupied positions of direction as Advisor, Music Spetialist, Dean and Supervisor in an array of institutions in these countries.

She was an accompaining pianist at private singing classes with catalan tenor Fernando Bañó; at the School of Music and Dance in Barcelona, Spain
Added to that, Teresita was in violin classes, concerts and other events at Etude Franz Liszt  also in Barcelona,  from September 1999 to July 2000.

From Sept 2000 to Dec 2010, at the Popular School of Belles Arts in the University of Michoacan, Morelia, Mexico; Teresita accompaned the Wind and String section accompaniment class, concerts and other presentations, also at Las Rosas Conservatory A.C., between Sept 2000 to Dec 2010.

In the United States, she continued doing this in concerts, auditions and competitions including a Vivaldi Festival in March 2012 at the Conservatory of Miami, FL (January 2011 to December 2011), also at Encore Music Academy, Miami, FL - Apr 2012; and in schools concerts at Community Center and others places in Key Biscayne from May 2012 to present.


Something she continues doing since January 2014  until present, is accompaning cellist Alain Orbiz.

At the State Cultural Center, Morelia, Michoacan, México  from  January 2010 to December 2010; Teresita integrated a Violin and Piano Duet with mexican violinist Alfredo Muñoz.  The duo presented many Concerts in various cities in the state of Michoacán.
